The Learning House

Our Mission:

Our mission is to provide quality care and educational programming with Christian values for families in our community. We offer a safe and caring environment that encourages social, emotional, physical, and educational growth in the young child.

The Learning House’s mission for quality care and education begins in our infant room and carries on all the way through our latchkey program for school-aged children. We know the children in our care are the same individuals that will be shaping our world tomorrow, and we take that truth very seriously..

We provide children with materials, opportunities, and activities necessary to help them master fundamental skills needed to be successful in the future.

These include large and small muscle control, communication, thinking/reasoning, and social/emotional skills.  Our curriculum also provides opportunities learning sign language, Spanish, and cooking skills.

Our Staff:

Our staff is a dedicated team of professionals committed to young children and their families. We value children and understand how they grow and develop mentally, emotionally, and physically. In addition to the formal education of many of our staff, and the on-going trainings we receive, we are also certified in CPR, First Aid, OSHA, and Epi-pen. Our staff completes all required clearances and ICHAT background checks as required by The State of Michigan before joining the team.

Licensing:

The Learning House at First Congregational Church is licensed by the State of Michigan. We follow the provisions of the Michigan Administrative Code as outlined in the Licensing Rules for Child Care Centers from the State of Michigan.
