The Learning House programs are designed to meet the unique needs of your child in their age group. Ages 6 weeks to 12 years.
At the Learning House, our mission is:
To provide quality care and quality educational programming with Christian values for the families in our community.
We offer a safe and caring environment that provides early childhood education that will encourage social, emotional, physical, and educational growth in the young child.
The Learning House mission for quality care and education begins in our infant room and carries on into our before and after school age program. The children we care for at the Learning House today are the same children that will be shaping our world tomorrow, and we take that truth very seriously as we invest in their lives.
We strive to provide the children with the materials, opportunities, and activities that are necessary to help the children master the fundamental skills that they need to be successful in the future. These skills include large and small muscle control, social and emotional skills, communication, thinking and reasoning. Our curriculum also includes sign language, Spanish, and cooking.
*On Wednesdays our preschoolers enjoy a Bible lesson with Mrs. Tracy!
*On Fridays our Toddlers through Preschoolers participate in cooking class!
The Learning House cares for infants starting as young as six weeks of age. It is at this stage that your infant learns to trust The safe and loving environment of our infant room is a great place for your infant to discover, explore, and learn. In addition to taking care of your infant’s physical needs, our caregivers enhance development through stimulation from seeing, hearing, and touching. The Learning House staff also provides the daily love, cuddling, and nurturing care that is important to the needs of every baby at this tender stage as they grow and develop.
Toddlers & Twos
At this age, your child is active and ready to explore, and the Learning House’s goal is to encourage this exploration and learning. He or she can begin to understand basic math concepts such as sorting, matching, and patterns. Your child also develops language skills and learns how to speak and to express feelings. This language development will be critical to learning in all other areas and is the basis for their future educational journey. We also introduce the Spanish language and sign language, ensuring that your child gets a great opportunity to build a strong foundation in these areas as well.
During this age, your child advances in expressing complex ideas and learns how to listen, comprehend, and communicate. At the Learning House, he or she will be busy in fun filled days of learning.
The Learning House preschool program is an educational program that is meant to build a strong foundation that covers all subject areas. Spanish and sign language are incorporated into our curriculum and is offered as another form of language development. Our preschool program is designed to meet the individual needs of each child. We want each child to be successful as we prepare them for kindergarten and beyond.
The Learning House also offers both before and after school programs. In the morning, we provide a healthy breakfast, and then safely get your child onto his/her bus for school.
Busing for our Latchkey program is provided to area public schools including Cook/Mason, Indian Hill, Myers, and Perry Center. We also offer full- and half-day care as needed based upon the Grand Blanc School calendar. After school, our Latchkey students enjoy theme-based art and crafts activities, outside play, games, and a healthy snack. We also provide homework stations for those who want to focus on their schoolwork.
